Founded in 2009, Open Hand Media started out assisting nonprofits organizations in whatever way we could, and found that our clients had common marketing needs and challenges. Our “whatever you need” approach led us to expand our scope of services and grow as an agency, mostly in an effort to address our clients needs.
Since 2013, Open Hand Media has grown to focus on a variety of marketing services including, creative design and web services, digital and traditional advertising, and communications and content creation. While our services and expertise expand – we maintain a focus on our strengths – a holistic approach to marketing that is grounded, practical and measured. We pride ourselves on our approach to marketing and it’s the reason why many of our clients we worked with in 2009 continue to work with us today. In the years ahead we look forward to creating more relationships and an even greater impact.
Since 2002, Ryan has worked in a variety of positions during his career in marketing. From political organizing, TV production and non-profit digital media, Ryan has gained a vast knowledge of marketing, branding, media production, graphic and web design/development. In 2007, Ryan worked for Planned Parenthood where he focused on media creation, technical know-how and marketing strategy for the non-profit sector. In 2009 Ryan founded Open Hand Media and has consulted with many non-profits performing numerous functions in order to support their missions.
Lorene started her career in marketing in 2001. With over 13 years of experience, Lorene has strong knowledge in all aspects of marketing, with a focus on digital and media buying. After gaining experience working for companies such as Lions Gate Films, Saatchi & Saatchi | Conill and Square Enix Mobile — Lorene decided to take her expertise to the non-profit world at first working with Planned Parenthood and then joining Open Hand Media in 2012.
Ariel joined the team in 2017, bringing with her 10 years experience as freelance designer and illustrator. With a background in fine arts she takes a comprehensive approach to marketing, where the medium is as carefully considered as the message. Her passions include design, illustration, typography, motion graphics, painting, and stop-motion animation. Her breadth of experience affords a unique perspective of how to effectively communicate a message with a balance of both practicality and aesthetics.
